Fer-De-Lance Info

HerpZoo420 Jan 14, 2004 11:08 PM

I was putzing around the internet trying to find information on various wishlist species that were not in my personal library of information. One of which is the fer-de-lance, I'm aware of the dangers and highly aggressive disposistion these snakes pose. And believe me, this is certainly a distant future endeavor, but to pass the time, I write up fairly detailed information on all of my wishlist specimens, and next up was the highly venemous yet impressive fer-de-lance, the details I usually begin with are Humidity, daytime and nighttime temps, food, substrate, water (dish, soak, from food, aquatic, etc.) and adult size/housing. I have looked through various search engines, and have found mostly things I already knew, about toxicity, size, temperment, and native regions, and of course food is a no brainer, but metabolism is key, as some snake species are obviously fed more or less often then others. Anyway I'm rambling now, just wondering if anyone had any info for future reference so I could continue down my list in order, thanks.

Steve

Try venomousreptiles.org, I believe there is an article about the captive requirements of aspers.

Thanks, I'll be sure to go check that out. If anyone is considering getting into venomous there;s a good beginner website;

No species profiles, but good advice, and warnings.
