BOA RACKS!!! YEA!! Sean, my boyfriend, just built these awesome racks for me today...they are PERFECT for my boas to grow and get big in. They only took about 5 hours for him to build (with a little help of course) and now all they need is to be wired up with heat and I can start moving my boas in! These racks have new boxes that are WAY BIGGER than the CB-70s (the boxes he uses for his Ball Python racks). The new boxes are 36 x 22 x 5 AND they're cheaper. Now you can't beat that! That's me and my Arabesque Boa in the last two pictures.

Thanks for looking!

Celia

That is very cool. I can tell you are really excited, and your enthusiasm for boas is inspiring to me. I know how you feel. I'm really happy to see soo many women getting into this. Linda, Sharon, Celia, Tracy, April and MANY MANY more. It is great. You have some AWESOME snakes Celia. Keep up the good work. It is nice to see those cages you are building. I do the same similar for the Rats. The only Negative about those with the boas is that the screen can be hard on the noses. You may want to coat it or something. Just a thought. I'm sure your snakes will be happy. Good luck, Jeremy Stone

Btw, NICE ARABESQUE!!!!

Sorry if I meant women "getting" into this wrong. What I meant was women who are ALREADY involved in the Herps. Many have been for a very long long time. Just clearifying so nobody took it wrong. Happy Herping. Jeremy

what are you some kind of sexist pig or something........

Just kidding good buddy.

I agree I woudl be a bit concerned with rubbing issues, other then that looks to be a great set up. I honestly wanted to go with something like that myself, but part of the agreement with Brenda (who yes also has her pet snake, and its real, keep your mind out of the gutter guys) when we stared getting our collection started back up was no home made cages. Thats the problem with woman in herps, all the sudden style matters (jk ladies).

it's actually not metal screen but completely made out of plastic. I realize the boas could still rub their noses on it but we use the exact same rack style to house all our adult breeder Ball Python (about 60 or so individuals) and have yet to have any of them rub their noses on the screen (knock on wood). I think since the boxes are on top of each other like that and we keep the one on the very top partially covered, it offers a visual barrier to them so they don't rub their faces along it trying to get out.

I would love to have Boaphile cages or Moonstruck cages for all my boas but unfortunately that would just be waaaayy too expensive for me as well as take up way too much room. We do keep our big breeder boas in Roylance Boa Racks which are fantastic!

I don't have the plans or know how to put them together or wire them up. All I know is that we had lots of pine wood of different sizes, there was some sawing involved, and we used lots of screws to put everything together. I helped a little bit but I just pulled staples out of the wood (so they wouldn't screw up the saw by accident), handed the boys different parts of the rack, and got to use the power miter saw to cut some of the wood. It was fun! LOL. Anyways, my boyfriend is working on getting some written plans down and I'll post those as soon as he finishes writing them. If I can, I'll take some photos of the building process when we build the next rack and I can take some photos when we wire it up as well
