I've been around long enough to know that anything is possible.

GH -->> 1.1 Lampropeltis triangulum sinaloae, Sinaloan Milk Snake
Area: South of the USA and North of Mexico.
A tender snake with a maxium length of 150 cm. All Milksnakes have the colors red, black and white mostly in ringform. This snake has a black head with a white nose, the red rings are large, the white rings are surrounded with black The head of the Milksnake is in one line with its body. These kind lays eggs, temp. 22 - 32°. Feeding specially mice and small hamsters. Dry terrarium with small watercontainer. The care is easy. This kind can not kept with other snakes because it will eat them.

The pic at the top of the page shows a snake with a black head, lacking any white on it.That would most likely indicate it to be a Zonata. Here is the link...

LOL!! First you say King and now you say Milk? This is so funny!! LMAO!! If you look at my post entitled, "Hmm...," you'll see links to pictures of L. Zonata and Sinaloan Milks. They do look a lot a like. I say it's a Sinaloan and Saker says it's an L. Zonata. What's you're final choice?

Copperheadman309 Jan 19, 2004 02:48 PM

Sinaloan Milksnake. I said it was Zonata.Go back and read.I gave link to a description of a Sinaloan MILK snake, the one you say it is,I then staed that there was no white on the nose(Like Sinaloans,Zonatas have black head, lacking any white markings). The only milksnake comment I made was to say that it wasn't a milksnake. That is my final(and only)choice.

Sybella Jan 20, 2004 10:52 AM

My Gray Banded Kings have black and white heads...I didn't think it was a cut and dry thing between Zonata and Sinaloans. I'll have to look at more pictures now. LOL!

PS. Are we fighting??

McNasty78 Jan 18, 2004 12:11 AM

Well, if there was a better pic you could see the pointy scales right over the eyes. That is where they get their common name of "eyelash viper". Neat little snakes, I love mine.

lol

Not a very good pic. I have no idea how people get good macro shots of "hots". In that pic I'm probably 2 feet away from it, which is DEFINTELY as close as my face will ever be to it. Its about 10 or so inches long at the moment.

Sybella Jan 19, 2004 01:42 PM

I can see the "eyelashes" on her right eye. That's incredible. How much do these things sell for, and how much for venomoids?

mcnasty78 Jan 19, 2004 11:26 PM

shes hot as hot can be, but i paid $250 for her. She was sold to me as captive bred. I've had her for close to a year now, with no problems. They are not very active, she spends much of her time hanging out on the fake trees in the pic. They are not very excitable either, which surprises me being that shes BRIGHT yellow. I would think that a snake lacking any sort of camoflage would be fairly defensive, but that is not the case. I must say, I'm very happy with my decision to go with an eyelash viper.
