Just thought I'd share a pic' of two unusually marked Aru GTPs. The yearling female on the left is from Duncan McRae's Herpafauna. Just before her color change she developed red speckles which have now turned into the black spots normally associated with the highland localities (or the so-called "mite-phase". I hate that term!). Not much white yet, but fingers crossed. Another fairly unusual feature is the small blueish scaleless spot on her forehead. Several of the babies in the group had this mark (including a more normally Aru-colored sister that I have). When viewed in the flesh it is obvious that these marks are not the result of rubbing or scaring and they all occur in exactly the same spot. Weird!
The male on the right is from Frank Schofield. Given that it is now three and a half years old, I don't expect any more green (cool) or white (not cool). The parents were imports in the classic Aru colors and so I had no idea that I was getting a "high-yellow" but it's all good.
Both snakes have all the other normal Aru traits (blocky heads, stumpy tails etc) but with custom paintjobs.
Anyway, thanks for looking.
