Yes and no. Western Sonorans are very different from eastern ones, but eastern ones are almost identical to bullsnakes. That's because they intergrade over such a large area. Morphs are really different (axanthic sonoron versus axanthic bullsnake for example).
In general, bulls have a "busier" pattern than Sonorans, get larger, get thicker, etc. I like bulls more than Sonorans, so obviously there are some differences. To a beginner herper, though, both are pretty similiar. If you would have asked if either one was "better" than the other, I would say no. They are BOTH great pets.
