I don; know what's up with my animals lately. A few weeks ago, my little male deremensis tried to mate with the BIG female, then next week, my BIG male veild DID Mate with the female deremensis....
And I get home last night, and my little male deremensis(seeing a trend here--he's going to be trouble later on) had tried to mate with my sub adult calyptratus! She had some scratches on her back--but so did he. I think she kicked his rear.
I've been renovating my animal room, and the female veilds are about to go into their big enclosure this week, as they have outgrown their plastic rearing tubs.
I've expanded the deremensis section, but because it's all newly remodled, I haven't found it's "weaknesses" yet, and apparantly, it isn't yet escape proof, as demonstrated by that little green turd.
I'm trying to juggle too many things at once, I guess, and I ended up setting things up in spurts, on the weekends. It seems that they don't care if I've finished withtheir cages...
At least I don't have to worry about that BIG veild escaping anymore, got him locked up real nice now....next step, finding something to contain that little deremensis. He was fine, until the big male started to toughen up, and defended his territory. When the little one started getting bossed around, he started to travel more, looking for land of his own. He's got a big enclosure now, buthe still climbs around, and he's still small enough to climb up the wood--the bigger ones are to heavy, and can 't get out.
I just need to pulll one of my cages from the garage for a while-drat.
