I’m in S FL and got my Dumeril from Underground Reptiles. I had visited every reptile shop within 100 miles of Ft. Lauderdale and I found them to be the most knowlegable, helpful, clean and above all else good and healthy animals as well as a large selection. The shop manager Greg breads Dumeril’s. I think I got the last one but if I where you I would contact them and find out when he is expecting more. http://www.undergroundreptiles.com/index2.htm

Don’t get in a rush, wait and get the animal you think will thrive with what you can offer. I am very happy with my choice.

Got it for $100 at a show at around 3' total length. Obviously, he was WC at that price and gave me plenty of headaches. All I could ever get it to eat in front of me was crayfish, but he would sometimes take ground turkey when I wasn't around. The best thing to do is spend the extra money on a CB specimen-it will definately be worth it. Also, make sure you give them plenty of water-they are definately semiaquatic. I know most of the caresheets (at least the old ones I was reading) suggested branches and said they will be somewhat arboreal, but mine never climbed once. He would bury in the substrate or go swimming most of the time. He was very secretive, but that could just be because he was WC. Just make sure you do plenty of research first and get any questions you still have answered well in advance. Good luck.

The newest Reptiles magazine had a great article on them with more info. than I've ever seen on them before, though admittedly I havne't looked for much on them lately. If you can get your hands on it, it would be a great resource.
