Eastern Toad - Water Treatment

plato Jan 15, 2004 12:14 PM

I have an eastern toad and I have been using distilled water to put in his cage. Is it ok to use tap water if I let it sit overnight to remove the chlorine?

Also I have a second location where the toad is kept part of the time where there is a well with a water softener attached. Again should it be ok to use the softened water?

I appreciate any comments.

Well water is generally safe. Most municipalities use chloramines not chlorine, which MUST be removed chemically (using chloram x or amquel). Check out the links
