red striped gargoyle

mrfisher Jan 15, 2004 12:31 PM

I saw a gargoyle with a red stripe down its back.

Is this a mutt (maybe a cross with something else) or is it a really cool morph - I guess depending on your taste

Typically when it comes to R.auriculatus one of the offspring from a single clutch looks like the mother while the other offspring looks like the father. I have attached a picture of some of my breeders. Red and Orange stripes are definitely one of the coolest morphs out there huh!

Sorry about the low resolution two of the pictures. When I tried to reduce the picture size it blurred a couple of them up. Anyone know how to keep the pics from doing this?

. . . .wow, they make my eyes pop out of my skull!!!

Whew, you have some really nice, NICE aurics.

To quote the Budweiser commercial . . . . "I love ya man . . . " LOL

Very cool . . .

LoL Thanks Monte. How are the ciliatus doing? Were the fires a big hit in the chapel?

NICE!!! Would you please tell me where you got them from? Do you have any offspring for sale? If so please e-mail me at paul@sandfiredragonranch.com. The solid red is AMAZING, I havent seen anyone with aurics like that outside of Allen's animals.

Thanks for the compliment on the auriculatus. The red one, as well as one of the orange/red stripers came directly from Russia as hatchlings about a year and a half ago.

How many reds is Allen working with?

According my experience I don't fully agree when you say that one will look like the mother and one will look like the father.
In the picture below you will see 2 of my males (the two on the left) and one of my females (on the right). I also have normal marbled females. When I breed a normal marbled female to the orange striped male in the middle of the picture, then the coloration of one of the 2 offspring will look like the mother and the other one will look like the father........however this doesn't apply to the markings, both will end up being striped. Till now I have never produced marbled ones with these two males.

A while back I had bred a black stripe to a marble and I received only a single clutch of eggs before I had to sell them. Only one of those eggs hatched and it turned out to be a marble, not a stripe. I wish I had gotten more eggs to see if this would have been a common pattern or not. How many eggs have to gotten from marble x stripe?

Steve,

I have a few mottled x striped pairs (mottled males), and I've found that about 75% of the offspring hatched out striped.
