is it a female? Do the males have little snout protrusions? The coloration is just amazing. They get quite large - right?

It's a young animal - possibly a female...not "mine" - I just get the opportunity to photograph them once in a blue moon & like to share.

What kind of camera are you using?

I'm shooting a Nikon Coolpix 5700. Uppity camera but once you figure out all the settings it's awesome!

I have the 4300. I bought it b/c of all those settings even though I only use a few so far. It was the high end of the low end (not cheap). Mine has 12 different scene settings - yours? More??? Whew!

You know what's funny? I haven't even really messed around with all the various settings. I basically switch from indoor/outdoor and that's it. I take so many animal pics in the course of a day that I don't like to change what works, since the lighting at our facility is pretty consistent. Maybe one of these days I'll sit down & actually figure out what everything does...mind you I'm no photography genius, so I'm happy to get by with what I can on some of these.

I'd be interested to hear any tips if you'd care to share them...not sure how close some of the settings are between the two models but you never know until you try!

Thanks!!!!
