HELP! I am not sure if my mom's turtle is safe or not. My mom called me on her way back from the doctors and told me that she has Scalet Fever. Can turtles get it also?????????? If so should I go get him and bring him to my house for safe keeping? I am guessing that if I do then I should qaurentine him from my other turtle and others in this house?

Hey, I had that as a kid. It sucked. Not many diseases can jump between reptiles and people, and I really think that this isn't one of them. So concentrate on bringing your mom nice cups of tea or something to make her feel better. Oh yeah, and don't catch it yourself.

"The serpent crams itself with animal life that is often warm and vibrant, to prolong an existence in which we detect no joy and no emotion. It reveals the depth to which evolution can sink when it takes the downward path and strips animals to the irreducible minimum able to perpetuate a predatory life in its naked horror."
