my hognose always burrys its self i rarly and meen rarly ever see it is this normal
it depends on the individual snake but hognose tend to be a little more reclusive compared to other species. i just got my first and he only came out for a about an hour each day. i upped the temp though and since then he's the most active one i have, out usually from early morning to late evening. what is your temp gradient?
well i uped the temp to about 90 from 85 ill see what happens and no the temp isnt gradient im trying to figure a way to do that right now i just have 1 ceramic heater and an under tank with a florecent bulb for light maybe ill unplug the under tank at night thanks for the help hopfully it works
90 might be a bit too warm for the little guy. I would just keep it at 85 and have a gradient. If the snake soaks in the water, then you know it's too warm. Anyway, sometimes hognose are active under the substrate and you just can't see them.

yeah i upped the temp just to 85, not warmer than that. it depends on the individual snake i guess. all i have is an under tank heater.
well on my day off i stayed up later than normal and he was really active after the lights have been off for hours
