deejacdesigns Jan 15, 2004 11:10 PM

i have a 6 month old ,that up untill this time has had no problems other than an occasional bad shed, but over the past 2 days he has been acting really sick...he just seems lathargic...its hard to explain the symptoms, its just the feeling somethings wrong..anyone know what im talking about??anyway he seems to perch in strange positions, with head hanging down, and he spends a lot of time on the floor of the cage..im constantly having to replace him on his perch..this past week he refuses to perch in the typical green tree python style(coiled symetrically).im not sure what it is but i did see him fall off his perch..it was a pretty far drop..i have a pretty tall cage with nothing but reptile carpet on the floor..other than that i dont know what else could have happened to him...does anyone know what i should do??im really worried..am i just overreacting??..is this strange behavior normal?..someone please post a responce!!..im going to be checking this messageboard every hour untill i get someone to help me...thanks

I think your first step it to call your breeder. Maybe s/he is seeing the same behavior in your snakes clutch mates. If you are realy worried I would take your chondro to the vet. There is not much we can do with out seeing photos or being their in person. If your snake is mobility and or blance problems I would take him in to the vet. Im proper care could have been the reason your snake is acting strangly or if you have a w/c or farmed animal that's your answer right there.

Good luck,
JG
