Thats getting a little bit to cold in my eyes. I would have to say that I think you should bump the temps up 10 degrees all the way around.

As far as the snake sitting at the cool end all the time, I dont think thats a good thing, to the best of my knowledge 69 is too coll to properly digest his food.

I agree with blink. To my knowledge if a snake, minus colubrids I think, goes below 75 for an extended period of time you are asking for a RI. If the snake is not being prepared for breeding its hot side sould be 88-92, and cool end around 80, and never below 75.

Do you have hides on both sides of your tank? If there's only one on the cool side (or the one on the warm side is too big/small) that may be why it's staying on the cool side.

Also, how & with what are you measuring your temperatures?

Shoot for 90 (95 tops) on the warm side (surface temp) and 80-85 on the cool side. A night time drop is not required buy okay - just don't go below 75.

I always try to keep the hot side at about 90 degrees and the cool side at 60-70 i was once told that as long as the 90-98 degree heat is being offored and the BP can get away from it it is alright

98 degrees is too hot.

Temps are too low. Warm side needs to be 90-95 and cool side 80-85 degrees. A human heating pad set on low can provide enough heat for the cool side. Just make sure to check your temps with an accurate thermometer or heat gun (check out ProExotics $35). I don't even worry with light bulbs. Snakes really need belly heat to digest.
