Get good gauges from big apple herp for like $35, those Fluker ones aren't very accurate and will get that stuff when its too moist and humid.

35 dollars? are you serious?

Go to walmart and buy a cheap digital temp/humidity guage. I've been using the same one for over a year and it is great.

Besides I heard Big Apple sucks on customer service.

ya $35 is quit pricy for a hydrometer. i just got $25 wal-mart gift card so ill check it out saturday.

i am still going to e-mail fluker. that sucks, that stupid hydrometer was $8 and the temp was $4 i think.

Those are made to look nice on a wall not in a humid vivarium. You really can't blame fluker for it since they would work well in a reptile setup and they probobly didn't know what you were going to use them in.

uhhhh,,, the hygrometer is registered for 100%. which would lead me to beleive it would work in a high humidity enviroment. i didnt see no warnings telling me not to on the package or gage. so i do see it as flukers fault.

Notic how the length between the percents towards the end get smaller? Means it's usually used for humidity of 40-75%. If they hygrometer had markings of 60-100% with large invals, then it would be there fault because it was made for high humidity.

The whole thing would be stuck to the back wall of the tank if you wish to leave it in permanently. Not great, but I don't think it is any uglier than the others. I actually took mine out eventually after realizing it's always warm and humid as long as the room feels comfortable to me.

By the way it is about 3x5 inches, gray and has a dual display for temp and humid, also has min/max memmory.

You could decorate it with some moss I guess?
