I did a little experiment today with my old video camera. I set it up focused on Loki's cage and set it for time lapse. It takes a second of video once every minute. I let it run for about 5 hours and then watched the result.
It's pretty funny!
He sits, almost unmoving , scootching up or down the log to thermoregulate in and out of his basking spot. Then BOOM he's hanging on the screen! A few seconds pass and then he's back in his basking spot. A few minutes pass and then BAM! He's down eating greens. A few seconds later he's back in his basking spot, now his head it time lapse bobbing up and down. Then KAPOW! He's back hanging on the screen. Few seconds later it's back to the basking spot.
It's kind of illuminating to see this as it seems as though he basically just sits around all day, but when you condense it down he's actually quite active. I'm going to keep doing this for the next few days, it should be pretty hilarious to see him have one of his psycho attacks when he climbs all over the inside of his cage like a maniac or one of the days when he eats every leaf off his morning salad!
