A Dumb Question...I know.

darrylv Jan 16, 2004 03:23 PM

Hey,

It's starting to get warm here in Southern California and I want to take my Retic out on the lawn for exercising and stuff I guess...But I was wondering can she get mites from just going outside or any other kinds of parasites?

Thanks for the help,

Darryl

Probably I personally would be more worried if the snake came into contact with the human parasites......you know...the next door nieghbor/s calling animal control on you by causing some not understanding person a panic attack of seeing the snake outside. I'm sure this has happened in other places in this country but while living in Overland Park Kansas several people had thier snakes taken away for having them outside. And in one case it caused a new city ordanance to be passed. A word of warning here, that's all.

right now are trying times for the hobby, alot of people pushing to ban ownership of our herps. I would STRONGLY recommend not bringing your animals outside unless you absolutely need to(vet appointment, thats about it). All it takes is one person to be scared, and believe me thats not hard, and your animal could be taken away and all of ours soon to follow. Think about the hobby before you make up your mind. It may not be here in the near future if we don't start being responsible.
