New pics of some of my '03 offspring (a photodocumentary on the variability in wildtype BPs)

JP Jan 16, 2004 03:33 PM

So I'm still learning how to take pics with my new camera. In case anyone is interested, it's a Fuji FinePix S5000, and we love it. I'm going to sit down and read the manual soon, but up to this point I've been just playing around (starting to get pretty good results though).

Anyway, here are a couple of our '03 babies that still live here. They're fat and wonderful and up to around 300 grams or so on average. As you can see in the pics, these siblings from the same clutch exibit the full spectrum of wild-type BP characteristics. The first one is a "black back", and the other is more of a "banded" appearance. I don't really like using those terms, but they are descriptive. By the way, these snakes are low percentage possible double hets (albino x axanthic).

Anyway, thought you all might enjoy the pics. Let me know what you think about the animals and the photographs. If anyone out there is using the FinePix S500 and has some tips for us, please let us know! Thanks!
