Hi; I need an effective treatment for mites ASAP, as we just discovered then on our Monkey Tail skinks! I've heard Listerine might work, but should it be used straight, or diluted, or is there something better?
Thank you!

When one of my BTS had mites I just took him to the vet and the vet gave him a one off treatment that got rid of the mites and he hasn't had mites since. Also, I just took everything out of his cage and washed it and changed all his bedding.
Did he use Ivormectin, or something else?

Listerine!?? I've never heard of that one.
I used a Nix preparation on our BTS about a year ago with great success. I don't know if that would be suitable for a prehensile as some herps don't respond well to that course of treatment.

Here are a few methods I continue to use that work effectively. Black Knight is #1 for spraying room & empty cages. Provent-A-Mite is used to treat newspaper, woodchips, and furnishings placed in cages. Reptile Relief works great on directly killing mites on the skink. Or Olive Oil mixed with Ivermectine wiped on skinks Kills them. Over the years I have learned several Products work with different applications.
