In reading your posts and updates on Caesar, he is getting the proper care and husbandy for a cape gopher. I mentioned being patient and not trying to give a cape girth because I see people tend to do that with capes and can't figure why they don't devour everything in their path like a bullsnake or northern pine. Northern pines tend to be O.K. when they are in an area of traffic as opposed to capes. Caesar definitely seems O.K. where he is and the care you are providing so I don't see anything out of the norm with his going off feed for awhile, especially this time of year and if he experiences some cold spikes.

>>Thanks for the comments and encouragements, Terry! I'm sure he'll come around when he's ready. He doesn't seem to be losing any visible weight. I guess my next snake-purchase will be a scale. And since he's in a low-traffic area of the house, and only eats when he feels like it, I must be taking pretty good care of him. He certainly seems happy enough...as much as a snake can seem happy.
