Q's on breeding

JBrowning333 Jan 16, 2004 10:53 PM

I am new to hognose breeding, tho i have been around snakes for alot of my life i never bothered to breed them until i got a pair of mexican hognoses. I know they can be cannibals but would like to know that when breeding season came if it would be safe to put the snakes in the same cage together for the whole season? or just in intervals of weeks? thx in advance.

I wouldn't keep them housed together for the whole season. Just introduce the male to the female after they've been warmed up and have had their first few meals of the season in April/May if your sticking to the regular calender. You probably wont observe breeding but look for evidence of it on the newspaper daily. That's what I do anyway.
