Nutritional value of Zoophobas beetles (not larvae)?

Lee_UK Jan 17, 2004 04:32 AM

Hi

I have started breeding Zoophobas morio again, for my Varanids, and can't find any information about the nutritional content of the pupated bettle, as opposed to the larvae.

Does anyone know what the content of adult Zoophobas (Darkling Beetles) is? If it's any good I'd much prefer to feed these over Roaches, as in the UK they're MUCH easier to get hold of (and breed in my case).

Thanks in advance

These forums really need an 'edit' facility LOL...

Sorry for the Darkling Beetle reference in the original post. I did indeed mean Zoophobas morio, the Darkling part was a mistake. Incidentally, does anyone know the common name for the adult Zoophobas beetle, if there is one? No luck finding it online.
