Using a substrate other then moss for the humid hide?

Johnstud56 Jan 17, 2004 02:58 PM

I was looking at cocanut bark or something for the humid wet hide, I spray my moss daily and its beginning to stink. Looking for something I dont have to change so often? What do you think?

I was using peat moss which I changed every few weeks, but he kept raking it out all over the tank and making a general mess of it. So I just started using paper towels instead. I just have to spray them more often (once a day instead of every few days). Its a lot cleaner and you can replace them easily.

I use vermiculite, it seems to work great.
