My dums have been copulating for some time now and I never put them through a "brumation period". When my female released her last meal I turned off all heat at night. I have a timmer on the heat which turns it on at 8:30am and off at 4:30pm the hotspot is on average during the day at 85 - 87 degrees the ambient ranges from 78-83 degrees after about 2 weeks I put the male in and they are still on the same temp schedule. I live in south florida so it isn't extremely cold at night but the ambient temp at night drops at the lowest to 67 degrees. too cold for too long can cause R.I. especially in dums which are from a dry desert like area. Natural changes in the weather will automatically stimulate your boas to breed if they are healthy and ready! When the female ovulates i will place her back to offseason temps even maybe a bit warmer. Here in south florida I have noticed when it rains the boas seem to be extremly stimulated. Even if you keep them indoor like mine they can still sense changes in the weather pattern. I hope this helps.
