Tindra Escaped!!

kg Jan 17, 2004 07:09 PM

I just checked on Tindra because she hasn't been eating her crickets the past couple days and she wasn't in her cage!!! I turned my room upside down trying to find her. I checked all tight dark spots and anywhere she could squeeze herself into. How can I find her?? This has only happened to me once before, but it was a leopard gecko and I found her 4 months later. My parents will freak out when I tell them since Tindra's a bit bigger than a leo. She's around 15 inches, so she could be anywhere! I also have a dog, so that creates another problem. I don't know how she got out. She's been living in the cage she got out of for 2 1/2 months now and there has never been a problem. Are there any traps I could set up? I don't know how long she could last without food or water. Help, please!

Pray now baby, pray your life was just a dream. The world in my hands, there's no one left to hear you scream. There's no one left for you...

I lost my bearded dragon last summer. After searching her usual hiding places for hours I decided to try something else. I turned off all the electronics in the house so it was dead quiet. Then I sat and listened. Eventually I heard her scratching. She had crawled under my dishwasher, which did not have the side cap put on yet, and then she had crawled up the other side between the dishwasher and cupboards. She was scratching because she was stuck.

I realize that you do not want your parents to know that your Tegu escaped; but this method may work if your tegu is moving around the house in an uncarpeted area.

Good luck; I hope you find her soon.
