Hey Mark B...

Hey mark,

are you aware of any V. kordensis being kept here in the states?? Vincent over there in the netherlands has got a gorgeous group of these guys, and I was just wondering if any existed in the states, perhaps even in any zoos?? Were these once commonly imported in as prasinus, perhaps before they were moved up to species status, for I think that they are found in the NG/Indo area, am i right? I could have sworn I remembered seeing a kordensis at the bronx zoo several years ago, for I remember seeing a green varanid that lacked the black banding that prasinus have, but instead had more of an ocelli-backed appearance. Maybe it's just my overly imaginative mind running away from me once again.... Thanks dude,

bob

Hi Bob,

No I am not familiar with any V.p. kordensis here in usa Bob. Have you reviewed H. Jacobs paper on elevating V.p. kordensis to species level? What did/do you think about it? Agree? Disagree?
I just don't know...and think about that problem/question...

If I hear of anything I'll let you know...have you spoken to Mike Stefani about this too? He has his finger on the pulse as it were more than I do...

cheers,
markb
