I was wondering what the average time it taked a newborn to have their first shed?

In my experience, the babies ussually shed 2 days after they hatch. they are very quick at shedding and I never got to see a baby shed yet. I know they dont eat till after their first shed though.

Also, make sure you are diligent to provide babies with a higher humidity level, this may mean misting the humid hide up to 2 times a day. And watch for unshed skin on their little toes, it can cut off circulation and cause the toe to fall off. They should start growing like weeds once they get some good food in them. Have fun with your little guy!

I've been keeping the hide damp. I love it when it hisses at me when I'm misting the hide. The little toes look fine, so I can only assume that the baby had a good shed.
It's yet to eat anything yet....hope it does soon. I keep a few small mealies and very small crickets in the dish.
Just a worried parent I guess.
