The place where I bought my tegu told me that I could feed it low fat dog food for its diet. I have been doing this for about a month now(she loves it). Then just this weekend I went to a reptile shop by my house to pick up some crickets and the owner told me that the dog food was bad for the tegu's liver. Is this true or just a sale pitch so I will buy his tegu food? Thanks for your help!

I've never tryed dog or cat food, but personally I won't feed it to my tegu. After all a Dog and a Tegu are not the same so why would they have the same dietary needs.
I have tryed the canned tegu food and my tegu loves it. But his favorite food has always been rats. and I only give him the canned tegu food as a treat (Maybe once a month).
