In no way do I recommend this product. I have never even seen it before, but I thought the info provided was quite informative, as I am very interested in 1. protein requirements; as well as 2. fiber requirements (eNDF) and VFA's in tortoise nutrition.

woah nelly! It was an interesting article. It seems to
be a supplement mixture of some sort to add to chopped lettuce.
Problem is my tortoise gets whole lettuce heads. And timothy
hay that can be bought anywhere. Thanks for sharing the
article. Definitely different!

For that price I could get them a first class airline ticket to S america for their daily feed. Think I will feeed fresh.

I have been using this product (and the Forest Tortoise mix) for over 2 years and it is excellent. Dr. Donoghue has been working on their mixes for over 10 years and the science behind them is dead on. At $13 per 1/4 lb. it is expensive, but if you want your tortoise(s) to thrive and avoid health problems I suggest you use these mixes and see the results for yourself.

Recommended with no reservations! Products for veggie-eating lizards, Asian turtles, box turtles, plus specific for tortoises.
A little of her product goes a long way!
What you might spend at herpnutrition may save you vet bills.

I want to see 10 years worth of tortoises with smooth shells raised on this diet. Especially for the price.

My 2 cents

I want to see pictures of the food, as well.

You have to keep in mind that this stuff is 'dry weight'. It is also manufactured as a supplement. Just think about how weeds you have to dehydrate to get 5 lbs of dry weight.
Most of the research that goes into this product is trial and error by a nutritionist. (a real nutritionist)(not one of these make believe ones).
