hot side 80-95 cool side 70-80 you can achive this with a 40-6- watt blue or red bulb
do you still need a heating pad on the warm side if you use a bulb?
A heating pad is best to provide belly heat which they need to digest food. I read through the other string of posts and i would also recommend the Leopard Gecko Manual. Its a great book and explains everything.
Also, did the setup come with a rheostat or thermostat for the under tank heating pad??? Without being regulated the pad can get up to temperatures of 110 degrees and depending on the type of tank your using that could break the glass. The pad should be placed on one side of the outside bottom of the tank and the tank should be raised a bit to vent off extra heat (usually the pads come with little sticky feet, or what i used to call bumpers when i was a picture framer).
I hope that helps
