Are there any colored lights that geckos see as darkness/night that make for easier viewing?

What side of the tank should the basking area be on?

i dont know about the colors leo's can see, but you can put the basking light anywhere, preferably on one end of the tank, make sure the other end is cool so the leo can thermoregulate itself.

Infrared bulbs and "blue" bulbs are fine to use as a heat source for leos, and these won't disturb them at night. They do sorta see the light though (I have my lamp hooked up to a thermostat and everytime the light goes on my leo sorta perks up if he's out and about).

But if you're already using a under tank heater, then the light really isn't necessary (unless you just want one so you can peek in on your leos at night).
