LEAF-CHRONICLE (Clarksville, Tennessee) 16 January 04 Snake stolen from pet store (Lauren Howard)
Thieves broke into a Providence Boulevard pet store last Friday and took a 4 1/2-foot anaconda that is known to be aggressive.
L&L Pet World owner Kathy Lyons said the suspects must have been very cautious when they took the snake from its cage between 10:15 and 11:15 p.m.
"She will strike," Lyons said.
Lyons, who has owned the snake for several months, said it could grow to be 30 feet long.
"It's kind of a hard thing to hide," she said.
Clarksville police are investigating the burglary.
Anyone with information is urged to call Detective David Jones at 648-0656, ext. 2310, or Crime Stoppers at 648-TIPS.
