I use a rubbermaid container and use a Dragon's Lair Heat Mat with thermostat on one side and a human heating pad set to low on the other side. No problem with either.

for the human heat pad does it have a cloth cover?

Yes, it's just a standard heating pad with some kind of cloth or soft cover, with low, medium, and high settings. I put it under the rubbermaid and it on low and it heats the floor inside the enclosure to about 82-85 degrees. I leave it on all the time. I use paper towel substrate.

thanks for the info. Does the dragons lair heat pat stick onto the cage or is it un attached?

The Dragon's Lair Heat Mat does not have a sticky side. It just lays under the tank. I would definitely recommend a thermostat though cause the temperature can get over 100 degrees without.
