Linda,
. I looked closely at some Boaphile cages. They are very well made. I think they would be ideal for BRBs except for too much ventilation. If you are ordering them new from Jeff Ronne you could probably get him to make them with fewed air holes. If not then you could easily cover some of the air holes with duct tape.

I did not see anything on the website about ventilation except on arboreal models. The 3'x24"x17.5" is the one I was thinking of, and it says the vent. comes from the space around the front door that totals 5 sq. inches. I was more cocerned about the latches/hinges rusting out quickly.

I own a Boaphile 36x24x18 that houses a ball python. The ventilation is solely provided by a gap around three sides of the plexiglass door. With a newspaper substrate, I have to mist just a little every day to keep ambient humidity at 55-60% for my BP (I also provide a damp hide box he can use if he chooses). Bear in mind that it's winter now and our humidity in the house is about 30%. If you use a well misted cypress substrate, as I've seen recommended, you shouldn't have trouble keeping humidity up. A little tape along the door can cut ventilation if needed. I have no experience with rainbows (I'm on this forum doing some research), just wanted to give you my opinions on the cage. Oh, and the hinges should be fine - they've got a black enamel finish, and they're on the outside of the cage anyway.
