My Tincs. acting strange-please help!

shopaholic Jun 06, 2003 12:10 AM

Some of the Cacoons(what do we call this-Pupae? I don't remember my basic science!)from the FF cultures got into my tank with the Tincs. They ate some trying to eat the ff larve around it. Is this harmful to them? They now look rather stuffed, kind of lethargic, and not their usual outgoing in-the-open selves, and not interested in FF today. It was also colder today then usual. The tank stayed around 72 degrees(but they've been in the tank with no stress at even 70 degrees) I'm a little worried. Are they just super full? Or do I need a vet referral from you guys for Southern Ca?

either stuffed or hungover..........I don't know how true this is.....but I remember conversation addressing the fact that larvae contained certain levels of ethanol (alcohol)due to the fermentation of the substrate......again, I reiterate that I'm uncertain of the efficacy of this, but it could be a possibility if it is indeed true
