We purchased this as a goulds. Is there any way to tell the differance for sure? And how do you know if it is a pure goulds? Here are some pics, let me know what you think. Thanks.

Pic of Tail

About tail tips, there is simply to much overlap for that to be meaningful.
This picture could be a cross or a gouldi or a flavi. But its not argus. Thanks F
Looks like a nice male gouldi to me. Thanks F
How can you tell that it is a male, just from the pic?
Also looks male by the picture, check the head shape size and the neck, also do a comparison of the features, and body perportions. To me it is all saying male.
Not counting what Jody said, and hes right, when you've been around those monitors for a long time, it becomes second nature.
Of course, some individuals, scream I am a male, and others do not. Those that do not, need to be taken to the next step, like looking for bulges. Then if that does not work, then pop them. Some individuals can slip thru all those steps and still be male. But the ones that scream male, are usually male. Same goes for females.
Well, it he a male? Cheers F
