Lots of Pics DIALUP beware, Cheri Joel some in here you will like

Ok so here are some of our dragons with a little background. Got kelly to bring the camera in and to edit the photos down to size and put them up on our site.

First we will post summer, such a great story. We got her from Cheri back in July. She was 47 grams at about 1 year of age. She was a non thriver (pineapple is her sister). Well now she is 18" and 408 grams. She will be paired up with Sonny (picture to come). It is amazing what proper husbandry does.

Next is another rescue dragon that we got from Cheri. She was also a non thriver. She was 14 grams when we recieved her from Cheri in July. Well she is not doing as well as Summer but still lots of progress. She is currently 13" and 105 grams. But in the last month or two she has found a monster of an appetite so there is still hope.

Now for Tarzan one of the imported babies. He was the biggest of the babies when we got him. But winter in Boston can be a tough thing. short days, dim light, and cold weather doesn't help a growing dragon stay very active. He is currently coming in at 16" and 206 grams. He seems to be doing well growing quickly again. All of our males like to run away, so to get a good pic you have to use the hand over the eyes for a few seconds trick. But then they look a little odd.

So now our pride and joy of female. A female from Joel (thanks joel she is awesome). She is a little piggy. Right now she is 14" and 237 grams. The colors are a little off, it is hard to get her true color out of the cage and in the cage there is too much light.

Now for Sonny our pride and joy male. He is one of the best dragons I have seen. He is about 18 months old. He is 20" and 612 grams, he has a small tail nip. Thinking he may not be done growing either.

Now for the one baby we produced that we kept this year. A female that just shows so much potential. She will be a screamer as an adult I think. I believe she has such a light color and hints of yellow, orange, and red. Currently ocming in at 14" and 123 grams. She is one that really slowed down over the winter if not flat out brumated, always a bummer in the first year.

And now for slick. He is a baby we produced last year. He is a very odd looking dragon. He is also a nice awesome yellow when fully awake. I am just starting to warm all my males. So they are not all that awake and happy with me. Let me know what all you guys think of him. I love him so much, he is so unique I hope he reproduces babies that look like him, color and scale wise. he is 19" and 375 grams, but he looks small. He seems long and stretched out.

Oh and here is mouth an eventual mate for tarzan, want some big babies. She is 20" and 560 grams.

I thought that Summer had a good chance to be normal size with the way her and Pineapple were eating after they came here. Pineapple is 17 inches now and 320 grams, she has really slowed for the winter and doses off and on. They both came a long way from what they were when they arrived!! Thanks

I am just amazed at the little one, you forgot to tell them she was only 5 grams when she arrived to me the month prior. I am so happy to see she hit 100 grams!

The picture of the male with his head down and a close up, looks like a picture of the mythical dragons in book!! that eye looks fearsome! crop and do A close up of it and you have a true "Eye of the Dragon" pic.

They all look good, your females are really nice, congrats!

Cheri I can not believe their growth. Summer is a pig and has a fat fat belly. It will be used up a bit in a few months. But she eats everything and anything. Spud I hold hope for. Her appetite has come so far lately. She is just eating eating and eating. Reminiscent of the way summer was when i got her. Actually I had a still born pinky mouse this morning. I offered it to all the juvis on tongs. Guess who ate it? None other that little spud. She won't get any others for sometime as they are just a bit too big but she did enjoy that one. They are really hydrated all my dragons seem to be urinating, not just with feces big puddles of water. yummy. And that is just a few of the females. I have a total of 6 females that are definately going to breed this year. Joels may be a late in the year breeder. We shall see how it goes. I thought you would really like to see them all looking nice and plump.

That second little girl has the most adorable face!! I am in love! Kudos to you, Kelly and Cheri for saving her life. Your dragons are beautiful you should be very proud. Keep us posted on your breeding projects!

That is just a selection. have 4 other "normal" girls. 2 "normal" boys and a nice sandfire redflameXgerman giant, he is small and may be sold eraly in the year. We love to help out saving dragons and sometimes you end up with one like summer. A dragon that has some color and grows to a full grown adult size. I think she still has some growing to do. Spud is amazing it was questionable with her at first, like cheri said 5 grams at 7 months old I have had hatchlings weigh 4 grams. She is over 100 grams now what an amazing turn around. I might adopt her out but that would be really hard. But space is limited. We have an idea who will breed who but that never works out the way you want it to, so I will not really be saying what I will produce until they come out of the egg. you will see them when they do.

I will keep you in mind. We shall see once all the babies start hatching. I just want to see what her full potential is. And am nervous about adopting her out (not to you specifically you would be a great home), because I am afraid if she grows to full size someone may breed her and she doesn't deserve that. I have actually given thought to having her spayed if she gets large enough to seem to be a viable breeder before adopting her out. But in 3-4 months I will let you know if I decide to adopt her out. Another key is someone that will keep Cheri Kelly and I updated on her progress. She is definately a little darling. Very photogenic as you can see. It is very fun to watch her bask and eat crickets and pellets. Only dragon I have seen start to go nuts when I start to give pellets. Her cage is the last to get juvi pellets (she is on the end of the rack). Such a little character. I remeber thinking she would not grow much if at all for the first two months. then she decided to get over the shyness and to start to eat. She now lives with thenie (the one Kelly and I kept of our own this year).

I am a pet owner not a breeder. I couldn't handle the stress. To be honest if I got a girl I would consider spaying too, because I worry about eggbinding and I do have a my male, Fuego. I know that a male in the room can make them lay infertile eggs.

Hey Grimdog nice to hear that those poor dragons that came to Cheri so tiny, and not thriving are doing so good. What both you and Cheri did to get those dragons growing was really fantastic, and to get one close to breeding size, that is just outstanding. It sure is remarkable what dedication and care can do for them. All the others are lookin good too. The import looks really light in that pic compared to my guy Meg hehe. When Meg is in his darker phase gees he is just so dark brown, black, and some orange color peeking through, but when he is light he sure is a looker, and it is quite surprising being from that wild linage just how much color they can have. I never would have imagined it. Meg is growing smoothly though, and I'm pretty sure if he continues to do so well he'll catch up to his bigger siblings some day. From the looks of his growth chart the last two-three weeks he really hit a nice growth spurt. I hope it continues for a few more Good luck this season with all those babies. Wow 6 female going. That is a ton of work, I could only imagine all those babies... Your so lucky to have a teammate by your side just as into dragons as you. I have a part time dragon handler myself, but thats as far as that goes hehe. At least the babies will be use to being handled a lot before going to their new homes.
