If you already ordered the cage why are you asking for advice?...just curious.

I am not going to bash cages by design, however, when I was planning our new wildlife center I had requested a demo cage to try out (before committing over $90,000 in funds for exhibits); I also asked for references....they wouldn't let me try a cage nor would they provide legitimate references....so I went with Habitat Systems who is far superior in design, quality, knowledge and customer service. And, we are very glad that we went with them and one other company, Crescent Moon Creations. BUT, I am sure that there are some very satisfied customers out there who will support this company and as long as you are happy with what you are getting, and the price you are paying, that is really all that matters. For one snake, this is probably an economical way to go for the size of cage you are getting and the price you are paying...if it were me, though, I would have gone with a different cage...but that's just me.

I'm not sure, but I don't think that that cage would keep a large burmese in if it didn't want to stay in. Isn't that the cage that's just made out of an aluminum frame that holds it together. I have heard that they are not very stable, so much so that you can't really stack one on top of the other without the bottom one flexing whenever there's movement in the top on.

Since you've already ordered it, I guess you'll just have to wait and see if the rumors are true.

The floor-size sure sounds right for a Burm. I personally prefer enclosures with more headroom, but 18" is pretty much "industry standard" from everything that I've read and seen. Long, low cages remind me of coffins, so I prefer 36" or higher, even if it does just waste heat.

Be sure to post a review when you get the enclosure -- I was considering Cages By Design but dilly-dallied too long and didn't get the order in before they jacked up their prices. I'd love to know what their build-quality is like, as well as the overall stability of their aluminum-framed plastic panel design.

As far as price goes, $560 sounds like a good deal for the square-footage.

"Heat panel" -- infrared radiating, bychance? Any more details?

Yes, I will be heating the cage with a heat panel attached to a big apple thermostat. But I have bad news my dad went nuts and cancelled the oder..lol. He said that my snakes only 28 " and i dont need that big cage yet. I guess it;s for the best I do rush too much i mean i don;t need the cage yet he can do fine in a 55 gallon till about 4 feet. Also keep in mind i'm only 15 i onlyhave around 800 in the bank and 250 of that is for the panel and thermostat when it comes time and i only have around 600 for the cage so i can;t get some huge great cage. Thanks everyone,
Mike
