Morganas first clutch!!

dextar Jan 18, 2004 04:55 PM

Well, Morgana laid 9 eggs today, and they all looked fairly good except for one that had a slight tint of yellow.

She laid them in different areas of her cage though, all in the same general area, but not all in the same pile. I have provided a picture of how she laid them. She only laid one egg in the hole she dug, and she never covered it up.

I have also provided a picture of what I'm using as an incubator. Any suggestions on my setup would be great.

Also, is it normal for them to get extremely thin right after laying their eggs? Or are my eyes just tricking me, because I'm so used to seeing her 'fat' now. Hopefully her appetite picks up and she puts some more weight on. Should I wash any of the extra bed-a-beast that is stuck on the eggs, or not worry about it?

Well, I'm crossing my fingers for Morgana and her eggs, I hope the all make it through!

I'm not so sure if that last image link worked, so here is the url.

Link worked fine! The eggs look great!. Are you sure that she laid all of her eggs on top like that? It is possible that she scattered them a bit while burying them. I would dig around just to make sure.

Your setup looks fine too. I don't know if you were planning to put a lid on the egg tub or not but I usually do just to keep them from drying to much. I don't even snap it on, just set it on top.

Good luck!

Welcome to the club

and yes, they are VERY skinny looking after getting rid of all those eggs
Imagine what it feels like to be without a 10 Pound 7 oz baby, felt like by entire insides were falling down around my ankles

Well, I can't really sympathize with you on the child thing, but I'm sure my mother could, considering I was a 10lb 2oz.

I'm just glad to hear its normal for her to be so skinny. Her skin looks loose also, but I would think from it being stretched out so far this is normal. Now all I have to do is candle the eggs, and get her some big fat nightcrawlers. She hasn't eaten in a couple of days now.

I'm going to be a Dragon daddy soon...Hopefully!

Give you mom hugs whenever possible
Reminds her it was worth it

He is not from Erowens eggs, I bought him at a few weeks old
