Reptile Webcams

Anyone else out there have a reptile webcam? I've got some links, but I'd like to update them as well as find any others.

If you refresh this page, the image should update if I've got my cam running. I'll be gaming in a half hour, but will turn it back on when I'm done a few hrs later.

I have a webcam on my site. http://www.hypogecko.com It currently isn't on but will be later tonight and tomorrow. What do you do for lighting? My camera doesn't seem to let in that much light.

Hey Rob,

How are the geckos doing?

I use a night light, one made for reptiles, but is pretty much a really dark blacklight. That's not the real secret, though. My cam is super good at low light conditions. The cam is a USB 3Com Homeconnect, which used to be made by Vicam, and I think is now being produced by another company.

Here's a little background info on the camera and status of drivers. You may be able to find one on ebay. I highly suggest it, even over others like the Logitech that are still made. I saw a 802.11 wireless webcam today I want to check out, though.

The geckos are doing great and I hope to breed them soon. The het for amel is now bigger than the amel. The camera I use is the creative webcam nx. It's not the greatest, but it's ok. I've tried messing with the settings to let more light in but I haven't figured anything out. I'm thinking I might put a light on the cage instead of heat tape, that way I'll have sufficient light.

on ur website where it says remove spyware, it it safe to remove all the stuff that spywhare puts in the search results. sorry i just needed to know.

Rob Jenkins Jan 18, 2004 11:23 PM

I wouldn't use that program. I don't know anything about it, and there's spyware removal software that does work and doesn't cost a dime. Check out Spybot S&D for that program.

The link on my website was an attempt at making $ off my site that didn't work.

is it safe to delete all the problems that come up? because i am. should i?

Rob Jenkins Jan 19, 2004 12:52 PM

I have deleted all the spyware from my system with Spybot S&D and have had no problems. Some programs won't work correctly after removing the spyware components, so if its something you can't live without, don't delete that program. It should show you what its going to remove, so if you're unsure, don't let it remove that one. Good luck

actually, I just set mine up 2 days ago... Logitech 4000 pro.. took me a while to figure out I couldn't do 'streaming video', but I'd have to upload a new image every couple seconds.. .

Here it is.. I still need to find a way to route the wiring so I can put the camera IN the tank
