eyelash viper questions!

exactly how big do eye lash vipers get, and exactly how deadly is their venom? thanks in advance! -matt

i believe about 2.5 to 3ft is max....maybe a bit smaller. The venom can be deadly. I think i heard/read it takes 15mg of their venom to kill a human....average adult eyelash viper yield is 10-20mg....so theres about a 50/50 shot at survival. But even if you do survive, whatever is bitten will surely be severely disfigured.

Eyelash viper females get to be 24 inches and males 18 inches. The venom is hemotoxic and as long as you are a healthy individual will not cause death. However amputation,loss of skin,lots of pain and a high medical bill will be some of the effects of a bite. The venom is a lot less potent than most Atheris species and other arboreals.
