What do you think of the Triple Crosses??

peterfromme Jan 18, 2004 09:29 PM

Hi Everyone,

I noticed on EBV's website they have triple crosses (Varanus flavirufus x V. gouldi x V. g. horni). Does anyone have experience with them? They seem a bit pricey.

A few people have mentioned that the crosses (sand/argus) tend to have better temperaments than a regular argus. I'm curious to know with a triple cross monitor if it gets any better...

They don't seem that popular...

The reason they are not popular is, there are very few out there.

They seem to be of the same temperment as gouldi and flavirufus, and their crosses. The argus part is long gone.

You have to remember, with our crosses, no argus has been introduced for over eight years.

Also, in my experience, the prettist has been argus/sand crosses, but the nicist patterns have come from threeways. But remember, they do overlap. Thanks F

Hey there Peter I know exactly which monitor crosses youre talking about. I must agree with Frank that the reason why they are pricy and not as popular is because they are rare in collections. I have three right now and they are awesome. The three ways at EBV are very nice animals specially the larger one he is really nice and looks very healthy and alert. I am a big fan of the gouldii complex and if youre intrested in it you should definatley go look at it.

hope this helps
