Sorry I was out of town for the weekend.
I know exactly where Kennesaw is! I am an MMA fight promoter and I use some fighters from a school there. I have also been on the Mountain a few times. I know there has to be other Georgia people here but we just have not found them yet.

My vet told me that she takes care of 2 other sulcatas here in Macon, I just need her to give them my contact information and I will see about getting them on here as well.

MMA is also called NHB ( No Holds Barred ) or Extreme / Ultimate fighting.
The Cage fighting stuff like seen on Pay per view.
There is one Jan 23rd at the Tabernackle in Atl and then I have one Feb 6th here in Macon.

So how big is your Sulcata?

oh, i don't have a sulcata, i have a redfoot baby who's about the size of the palm of my hand (he's about 3 months old or so). i did consider getting a sulcata after i saw some captive-bred babies in a pet store, but i decided that i didn't want to get a species that grows so large.

how about yours? have a picture of him uploaded?

long story short, i heard that redfoots were great, and they get fairly big but not unmanageably so considering my living arrangements. my friends and family love him, too!

piccy below!

You live in Macon?

I ask because my sister lives in Macon and was looking for a good martial arts, preferably Thai boxing, school in the Macon area.

I live in Richmond, VA and train Thai and BJJ and she's, therefore, interested in studying Thai, but I don't know of any schools close to her.

My instructor recomended Eddie Camden's Tiger Academy, but it's on the other side of Atlanta from Macon so that's not an option for her.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Eddie Camden's Tiger Academy is a great school. He teaches MANY different classes there but it is about a 2 hour drive one way to get to his place from Macon.
We have a school in the Golds Gym on Riverside drive .
http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/afapraxis/

Classes are Tues and Thursday 7:30 ( Upstairs in the bag room)
Tell her to drop by and just watch and see if it is what she may like.

and we have a few girls in there now too that may make her more comfortable. We dont teach just Thai but it is a combo of everything. There is really nothing else in the area except Tae Kwon Do places.

Check out the webpage and let me know what you think, have her drop in, my name is Matthew, if I am not there have her ask for Dee.

I'll have her check it out, but I don't think she'll like it. She came and watched on of my BJJ classes once and didn't dig it at all...most girls don't, except my fiancee (lucky me)!

Anyway, she's looking more to get in shape than learn how to fight, but I was hoping I could turn her on to a Thai school so she could get the best of both worlds. It sounds like you guys have a good program, but it's probably a little too down and dirty for her. Oh well. I'll have her check out your website.

Thanks again for the info.

Hey, I noticed from your posts that you live in Georgia too, so I thought I'd chime in. I live up in Athens and I've got a house full of torts. I started with a pair of leopards about six years ago and this past fall I got fourteen hatchlings. I guess the hot humid Georgia summers agree with them. I've also got a pair of Russians and a redfoot. I'm thinking of getting him a companion this spring. Anyway I just wanted to say there's another Georgia tortoise lover out there.
