I'm not sure if it's true of snakes, but I know when I kept doves, they NEVER let you see them be sick. A natural prey response is to not let the bigger creatures know your weak. Whatever happened to your poor guy, I don't know, but I'm sure it wasn't for lack of care. You did the right thing by making him an appointment, a few weeks of not eating seems pretty par for the animals, so I probably wouldn't have made an appointment any sooner than you did. Don't be too hard on yourself.

can you open the mouth now and see if there's a sore there or anything?

his mouth looked normal, i wonder if he could have broken his jaw? as soon as i can find a vet that can do a xray for cheep il find out then

IcedGoddess Jun 07, 2003 09:16 AM

ya know, if you know anyone who works in clinic that has x-rays there, you may be able to get it done free somewhere after hours. When I worked in a pediatric clinic The doc's there let me x-ray my anorexic cat after hours. x-rays aren't cheap, but if you "know" someone People and animal machines are the same
