P. breitensteini early POS....

Rich_Crowley Jan 19, 2004 08:25 AM

This is early, but I am not complaining. Shed last night and now I only have to wait...

For anyone who knew of my "odd" clutch, this is a related breeding to see if I can reproduce this trait from the bigger healthier sister and actually get some survivors.

Wish me luck!

Please pardon my ignorance . . . I guess it has something to do with them breeding?

Good luck if they're breeding!!

Hey Blue,
POS, stands for: Post ovulation shed.

When I saw that, I couldn't help thinking it meant 'piece of s@*%'

Rich_Crowley Jan 19, 2004 05:40 PM

That is funny. I never thought of it from that perspective.

Blue_Fox Jan 19, 2004 06:08 PM

...I never would have guessed that in a million years! Plus, as Apeilia said, in the car world it generally refers to something . . . Less that desirable

I figured he wasn't calling the snake that!

Blue! one more thing, it can also mean, Pre-oviposition-shed, which is the shed that gravid females will go through - just before they lay their eggs.

Your "pre-oviposition-shed" is the same thing as a post-ovulation-shed, just FYI.

Hey Kara,
Just for you too, I already knew that, but forgot to mention that in the first post. Thought that I would give the person asking the question a different point of view and different thought or use of the tech terms used for the identical process or physiological change. Thanks anyway!

Angel...if you had any clue how hectic my evening turned yesterday, you'd understand.

When's a good time to give you a shout today?

If all goes well and I hatch out some I will let you know. I am still breeding the same female that produced last year, but I was hoping her sister could produce the same. Time will tell.

googo151 Jan 19, 2004 08:09 PM

Hey Rich,
Forgot to congratulate you on the possible future deposition of egg's - sounds exciting. Keep us posted!
Sadly, all of my Borneo egg's turned out to be infertile after all; so no little ones for me with the particular female this time around - keeping my fingers crossed on the other female. Might have caught her ovulation and thus might get something from her; grins! Alright - all the best to you Rich.
