He has a purple cast to him. Its hard to describe the color but this is one of the best pics I took of him showing it.His ground color looks black also but its not just that dark purple color. He is a 2002 male and he also has nice bright white clean crossbars.

That is a beauty, Keith! I have a question...there are a number of very large Easterns from New Jersey on your web site, and I was always under the impression the bigger ones came from down south. Any thoughts? Also, have you seen the "Unusual specimen" of a blotched Eastern King found in South Carolina on the snakesandfrogs.com web site? That is a beautiful animal. Thanks, Milt

There are 3 5' plus animals from NJ on there. One is from Stockton College in NJ and is well over 10 years old. The other is owned by Tom Davis and is over 10 years old. Mine is over 15 years old so I think age among other things plays apart. I will say my juvenile NJ from the big Monmouth Co animal I have is considerably smaller than my GA animals from Will Still.

That is a very iridescent eastern. That purple cast seems pretty rare. I can't wait to see if the offspring of this animal possess the same coloration. Nice.
