Ghost corns

Pazuzu Jan 19, 2004 11:52 AM

Hi!
I've got a question concerning ghost corns. (sorry, if there are any grammar mistakes or so - I'm german...)
I've read that the black (or dark grey) markings oh these will light up or kind of wash and lose contrast by age. Is that right?
If that's so, at what age is the final state achieved? I ask because I saw a nice one, which is about 1 1/2 years old and I wonder, if it stays this way, or changes a lot...

Thank you for your help!

I don't know if all ghost corns change, but usually, most corns will develop more color over their first year and a half--especially yellows. That comes in later. I have a pastel ghost that has developed a peach color that was not there as a hatchling. But if the corn you're looking at is close to two years, I would say he's probably mostly settled into his color.

Hope that helps. Good luck in your decission.

I don't know if this photo will show up but this is my ghost. He is getting yellow under his jaw and belly. He is at least a year old and as long as a person's arm.

Hey, that is a beautiful one!
Do you think, that this is the final stage? The ghost, I'm looking at is almost similar to yours concerning colouration and size and I like it that way. I'm just afraid that the markings will still change into something lighter and with less contrast...
