Interesting Female...Any Opinions???

jim_perron Jan 19, 2004 12:08 PM

I picked this girl up recently and i am facinated by the colorization and pattern. She is a 2200 gram adult girl with almost Mojave like features. Her belly is 100% white.

I'll take opinions on her....she certainly is interesting to say the least.

Thanks,

I'll throw a pic of a normal girl up at this link as well for comparison

I would say that female is a definate 'keeper' Jim. If you lived near me, I would be after her to put with my Black eyed Leucistic male. Try putting her to a Mojave male, you may be surprised with the result. Eric

Thanks Eric,

I have a great looking pastel male to go with her. Any idea what a unproven (gentically speaking) girl like this might go for???

She reminds me a lot of this girl I picked up at a pet store as an adult a few years ago.

Mine's pushing 4,000 grams now but I've not gotten eggs from her yet (thinking her "mate" for the last two years might be a dud so loaning her out to a new similar looking one this year).

I'm sure she is worth more than the $100 or so that I paid for her but I wouldn't sell her. The problem is that if someone paid a lot they could get burned if it doesn't prove so probably best to just thank your lucky stars if you got her on the cheap and then try to prove her yourself.

By the way, I wanted to try to work out a breeding loan with The Snake Keeper for my female to a Mojave when I first got her a couple years ago but they didn't seem to think she was a Mojave and I have to think they would know.

How about a pic of your Black eyed Leucistic and it's parients?

Hi Randy, you will find a picture of him on Bob Clark's home page. That pic is about as good as it gets. Eric

That is a good looking snake, about as close to Mojave as any "unproven" I have seen. As far as price, I would think this animal is easily worth $3000-$5000, but that is just my opinion. I think it holds too much potential to not fetch that kind of price, maybe more...

You said in your classified ad that she was CB. If you mean captive bred, then I am sure she is normal, unless one of the parents were mohave, and someone paid quite a bit for them? She is a very nice looking girl, and when you posted a pic of a normal on the linked page, you should have posted one next to her in the same photo to give us a true comparison. She has a lot of blushing, but does not look anything like the extream colors of a mohave, but reminds me a lot of my "wannabe" mohave that was from co-dom breedings. I don't think mine will prove out to ba anything, but it's always nice to have some good looking normals. Heres a pic and good luck with her.....unless you are trying to sell her still? By the way, next to weight on your site, you say she is a male?

Thanks idealreptiles,

I made the corrections on the site. They said she was Captive bred, but who knows for sure? Good logical thought.

Jim
