WOW, very cool, where did you get all of those? What type of lighting are you using. Those are very very red.

Those all came from Bird Rock Tropicals, which is going out of business. It is really sad because their plants are great, but we still have Tropiflora! I have a 55watt Power Compact over them and I am going to be adding a second 55watt before the weekend. I need these plants to pup like crazy. I have to many tanks to build in the next few months. My guess is I will be placing another order for plants very very soon. Good thing Tropilforia has a large quanity discount!

Those are some large broms, that most others do not carry. Not that I have any tanks big enough, but still very nice.

Ben,

Can you elaborate on the lighting?
It's a single 55 watt compact fluorscent, right?
How long is the tube?
What color or Kelvin rating is the tube?

I'm trying to improve the lighting on my tank and am looking for ideas.

Thanks,
Tim

Hey Tim,

Right now the lighting is just 1 55watt compact fluorescent light kit from AH Suppy. The bulb is 21.1" and 5000K. The light is a little yellow, when compared to a full spectrum fluorescent. I think I am going to get a 6700K bulb next time.
I think for this tank I will be adding another 55watt bulb in the next few days, so I can keep the plant color and have them pup like crazy.

Now on a frog tank, the size pictured a 20gallon high, I normally use just one 55watt kit. They are great lights and the plants seem to love them.

Hope this helps,
