one more quick question

i coat my crickets with calcium/vitamins, and keep a dish of it in there too. its easier to just have the dish of calcium, but is it better to do both, or just have the dish?

Both (but make sure you aren't using calcium with D3 in the dish or constantly on the feeders (supposedly large quantities of D3 are fatal)

No, you can use Calcium w/ D3. The low amount offered in dusts isn't nearly enough to get too much D3.

leos regulate their calcium intake, dust your feeders, and just keep a small bowl of it inside the tank.

I alternate between calcium without D3 and Calcium with, keeping both on hand. I supplement vitamins in gutload and dust, but I don't put vitamins in the bowl of pure calcium.

i have read that dusting feeders with vitamins should only be at max 3 feeds in lets say one week. but calcium everyfeed. btw i only meant for calcium to be left in the tank not vitamins. i'm not sure about the vitamin thing though, and i forgot where i read that.

You don't need to supplement w/ the vitamin powder every feeding. I do about once a week, and there are good vitamins in the gutload I use.
